It’s not all that complicated really. We both have a deep love of travel and had talked about living in Japan before. We started researching Japan and immediately Hokkaido jumped out at us. Full of natural wonders and breath taking scenery it spoke to both our loves of the outdoors and gardening. With a little more research we found Kushiro and it met all our requirements. From there it was just luck that an opportunity arose at the right time and we were on our way!
We are nervous, excited and eager all at the same time and we are looking forward to getting a grounding in the language and discovering the people and places of Eastern Hokkaido!
It was a long and exhausting flight but we made it! The sights, the sounds, the smells and of course the fog. What an amazing city! Kushiro is already surpassing our expectations and we have only just arrived!!
